“Bumble Branches” initially started with an upcycled frame that I wanted to create a piece for. I hadn’t drawn a bee in a while so I started there; and then had the idea to have the wings overlapping, as if you can see the wings in motion. That fluttering wing motion also reminded me of flower petals fluttering to the ground, which is where the idea for cherry blossoms came in.
