10 Years

2020

11x15”

Watercolor, pen

“10 Years” is aptly named since I picked it up to work on it 10 years after I had started it. I had done the watercolor flowers back in high school, as the assignment when we were learning how to use watercolors. During the pandemic I reflected on the work and how far I had come with my art practice and decided to add the bees. The addition of the bees was also a commentary on our environment. Many species of bees are endangered and will disappear if their environment continues to be destroyed, by either climate change, disease, or habitat destruction.
